Teach and Inspire Pupils in Lower Key Stage 2
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Chelmsford, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach pupils in Lower Key Stage 2, helping them consolidate key skills, develop independence, and grow academically and socially.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 4 class, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across the curriculum. You will join a collaborative Key Stage 2 team where planning, reflection, and professional development are encouraged. Leadership is supportive and approachable, providing guidance and resources to help teachers thrive.
Your Role
As a Year 4 Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons that challenge pupils while supporting a range of learning needs. You will monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning, ensuring all pupils make strong academic and personal progress.
You will also play a key role in fostering positive behaviour, resilience, and independence, while supporting pupils’ social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 4 curriculum
Use assessment data to monitor progress and inform planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independent learning
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Key Stage 2 colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
Contribute to school improvement and curriculum development
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4
Be confident in curriculum delivery, assessment, and differentiation
Possess strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
Demonstrate commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding
Have a positive, professional approach to teamwork
Early Career Teachers with Lower KS2 experience are welcome and supported.
