Your new school

A comprehensive secondary school in Manchester with a strong academic ethos and a well-established English department. The school places a clear emphasis on literacy, reading for pleasure, and analytical writing, and offers a highly supportive induction programme for Early Career Teachers.

Your new role

  • Delivery: Teaching English across KS3 and KS4, with structured support to develop KS5 teaching over time.

  • Literacy: Supporting whole-school literacy initiatives and embedding reading, writing, and oracy skills within lessons.

  • Development: Engaging fully with the ECT framework, including mentoring, coaching, and regular lesson observations.

  • Communication: Maintaining positive and professional communication with parents regarding student progress.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • QTS (or on track to achieve QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.

  • A reflective, enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.

  • Commitment to professional growth as an Early Career Teacher.
