The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of children aged 3–5

• Assist in delivering structured and play-based learning activities

• Support children with additional needs, including SEN and EAL, to ensure inclusive learning opportunities

• Observe and record children’s progress, providing feedback to teachers

• Encourage children’s independence, curiosity, and confidence in the classroom

• Help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment

You will also help with the preparation of resources, assist in daily routines, and contribute to school trips and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children in whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one activities

• Delivering play-based learning experiences under the guidance of the class teacher

• Supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development

• Helping manage classroom routines and transitions

• Preparing resources and learning materials

• Monitoring and documenting children’s development and progress

• Supporting children with SEN, EAL, or other additional needs

• Assisting with outdoor learning, creative activities, and physical play

• Participating in team meetings, training, and school events

• Supporting extracurricular activities and school outings

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who:

• Has experience working with children aged 3–5

• Understands early years pedagogy and child development principles
