The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, creating an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning. You will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the curriculum, with particular focus on English, mathematics, and foundation subjects.
You will also support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them develop confidence, independence, and strong interpersonal skills. Working closely with teaching assistants, SENCO, and senior leadership, you will ensure that pupils with additional needs receive personalised support.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering differentiated, engaging lessons across the curriculum
Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Using a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL pupils
Collaborating effectively with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and SENCO
Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school initiatives
Contributing to extracurricular activities, school trips, and events
Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards
The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a KS1 Teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1
Is passionate about early years education and child development
Delivers high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons
Has strong classroom management and organisational skills
Understands and supports SEN, EAL, and pastoral needs
Demonstrates reflective and proactive teaching practice
Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and resilience in all pupils
