The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will teach pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, planning and delivering engaging lessons across all areas of the curriculum. You will create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.
You will also support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them develop confidence, independence, and strong interpersonal skills. Collaboration with teaching assistants, SENCO, and senior leadership will be essential in providing personalised support for all pupils, including those with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons across the curriculum
Monitoring, assessing, and tracking pupil progress
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL pupils
Collaborating with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and SENCO
Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school initiatives
Contributing to extracurricular activities, school trips, and school events
Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards
The Ideal Candidate
The school seeks a KS1 Teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1
Is passionate about early years education and child development
Delivers engaging, high-quality, differentiated lessons
Has strong classroom management and organisational skills
Understands and supports SEN, EAL, and pastoral needs
Demonstrates reflective and proactive teaching practice
Builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
