The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, creating a stimulating classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. You will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across all curriculum areas, with a particular focus on English, mathematics, and foundation subjects.
You will also support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them build confidence, resilience, and interpersonal skills. Working closely with teaching assistants, SENCO, and senior leadership, you will ensure that every pupil, including those with additional needs, receives personalised support to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in line with curriculum objectives
Assessing, tracking, and monitoring pupil progress
Supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Using a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEN and EAL
Collaborating with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and the SENCO
Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school initiatives
Contributing to extracurricular activities, school events, and trips
Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a KS1 Teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1
Is passionate about early years education and child development
Can deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons
Has strong classroom management and organisational skills
Understands SEN, EAL, and pastoral support needs
Demonstrates a reflective, proactive approach to teaching
Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
Promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and resilience in all pupils
