The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, planning and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum. You will create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
You will also play a vital role in supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them build resilience, confidence, and strong interpersonal skills. Working closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO, and senior leaders, you will ensure all pupils—including those with additional needs—receive the support they require to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons across the curriculum
Monitoring, assessing, and tracking pupil progress and attainment
Supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Using a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEN and EAL
Collaborating with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and the SENCO
Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school improvement initiatives
Contributing to extracurricular activities, school events, and educational trips
Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a KS1 Teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1
Is passionate about early years education and child development
Can deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
Has strong classroom management and organisational skills
Understands and supports SEN, EAL, and pastoral needs
Demonstrates a reflective, proactive approach to teaching
Builds strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and resilience in all pupils
