The Opportunity

A vibrant, community-centric secondary school in Islington is looking for an English ECT who is passionate about diverse literature and social justice. The department is known for its "Whole School Reading" initiative and its collaborative office culture. This school prides itself on making classic texts accessible and relevant to a modern London audience.

Role Details

  • Curriculum Design: Take an active role in redesigning the KS3 "Diverse Voices" curriculum.

  • Mentorship: Benefit from non-evaluative "drop-ins" and high-frequency feedback from a mentor who is an expert in oracy.

  • Wellbeing: Access to a "No-Marking" policy for specific year groups, replaced by whole-class feedback sheets.
