Inspire Young Learners at the Start of Key Stage 1
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Nottingham, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young learners at a pivotal stage of their education.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across the curriculum. You will play a key role in helping pupils consolidate their learning from Reception, develop independence, and build confidence as they move through Key Stage 1. Our school values creativity, curiosity, and reflective practice, and we are looking for a teacher who can inspire children to develop a love of learning from day one.

Role Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate lessons across all areas of the Year 1 curriculum
Assess pupil progress regularly and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Promote positive behaviour, routines, and social development
Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to ensure high standards
Communicate effectively with parents and carers about pupil progress and achievements
Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives
Support pupils’ transition from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1
You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a crucial stage of learning, supporting children as they develop foundational skills that will guide their future education.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a teacher who is:
Qualified with QTS and experienced in Key Stage 1 teaching
Knowledgeable about literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum
Able to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners
Creative, reflective, and able to deliver engaging lessons
Collaborative and committed to contributing positively to the staff team
Dedicated to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
Enthusiastic about fostering independence, confidence, and resilience in children
