Year 1 Teacher – Lambeth, London
Full-Time | Permanent | MPS/UPS (Dependent on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
An Opportunity to Shape Early Learning in Key Stage 1
We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic, and nurturing Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the vibrant borough of Lambeth, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for a teacher who understands the importance of a smooth transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1 and is passionate about creating engaging, supportive, and structured learning experiences for young children.
Year 1 is a crucial stage in a child’s education. It is where early curiosity is channelled into more formal learning, where independence begins to develop, and where strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics are established. We are looking for a teacher who embraces this challenge and is motivated to make a meaningful impact during this formative year.

Staff at our school work collaboratively and support one another through shared planning, reflective practice, and open communication. Leadership is approachable and committed to staff development, wellbeing, and professional growth. We believe that when staff feel supported and valued, they are best placed to deliver high-quality education for our pupils.
Parents and carers are seen as key partners in learning, and strong relationships with families are actively encouraged and nurtured.

Creating a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
Promoting positive behaviour, routines, and independence
Working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to maximise pupil outcomes
Communicating effectively with parents and carers to support learning at home
Participating fully in staff meetings, training, and wider school initiatives
This role requires a teacher who is organised, reflective, and adaptable, with a strong understanding of how young children learn.
