Key Responsibilities
The KS2 Teacher will be expected to:
Deliver engaging lessons across all KS2 subjects, in line with the national curriculum
Plan differentiated lessons that meet the needs of SEND, EAL, and high-achieving pupils
Maintain a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages participation and curiosity
Track pupil progress, analyse assessment data, and implement interventions as required
Promote positive behaviour management strategies and foster resilience, independence, and social skills
Engage parents and carers in their child’s learning through reports, meetings, and regular communication
Support the development of extracurricular programs and enrichment activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leadership to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
Participate in school initiatives, including literacy, numeracy, wellbeing, and digital learning programs
Uphold professional standards, including punctuality, communication, and adherence to school policies
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal KS2 Teacher will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Years 3–6 in a primary school setting
Strong classroom management skills with a positive approach to behaviour
Ability to differentiate teaching to meet a variety of learning needs, including SEND and EAL
Commitment to creating an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Excellent communication skills, both with pupils and parents
Enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience, with an ASAP start
Desirable experience:
Leading a subject or initiative across KS2
Use of digital learning platforms and technology in the classroom
Experience running extracurricular clubs or projects
Familiarity with national assessment frameworks and reporting
