Role Purpose
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support Nursery and Reception children aged 3–5. You will assist with the delivery of engaging learning activities while providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs.
Supporting children with SEN, EAL, or social-emotional challenges is a key part of this role. You will help children engage with learning, build confidence, and develop independence in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in delivering EYFS curriculum through both adult-led and child-initiated activities
Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils requiring additional help
Support early literacy, numeracy, phonics, and creative learning
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social skills
Assist with daily classroom routines and transitions
Support outdoor learning, physical development, and creative activities
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and achievements
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, external specialists, and parents
Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are maintained
The Ideal Candidate
