The Opportunity

This Outstanding school in Hertfordshire is looking for a dedicated Science Technician to support a vibrant and successful Science department. The school is known for its academic rigour and its high uptake of A-Level Sciences, requiring a technician who is confident in supporting practical work up to Key Stage 5.

Core Responsibilities

  • Equipment Preparation: Preparing chemical solutions, assembling apparatus, and ensuring all materials are ready for practical lessons and examinations.

  • Health & Safety: Monitoring laboratory safety, maintaining the chemical store, and ensuring all practical activities are risk-assessed.

  • Technical Assistance: Working alongside teaching staff to support students during practical sessions and ensuring a high standard of organisation within the department.

Requirements & Compensation

  • Essential: A background in science (A-Level or above) and a proactive approach to laboratory health and safety.
