The Opportunity

A superb opening for a meticulous Science Technician at this renowned Manchester independent school. You will join a high-spec Science faculty, providing essential technical support for practical learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This role is vital in ensuring that our pupils experience a world-class practical curriculum in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Technical Preparation: Setting up and clearing away apparatus, chemicals, and biological materials for practical lessons across all Key Stages.

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintaining equipment inventories and ensuring the safe storage and disposal of chemicals in line with CLEAPSS guidelines.

  • Laboratory Management: Managing the organisation of prep rooms and assisting teaching staff with complex practical demonstrations.

Requirements & Compensation

  • Essential: Prior experience in a school laboratory or a scientific background (Degree or Level 3 qualification).
