Schools across Haringey are seeking Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs. These roles focus on early intervention, de-escalation, and relationship-led behaviour support.

The Role

You will work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour linked to SEMH needs, trauma, anxiety, or unmet SEN. Support may be delivered in classrooms, intervention spaces, or alternative provision settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behaviour mentoring

  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour strategies

  • Reinforce school routines and expectations

  • De-escalate incidents calmly

  • Support pupils’ return to learning

Candidate Profile

  • Behaviour, youth work, or care experience

  • Calm, firm, and consistent approach
