Role Information
As Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in monitoring, improving, and sustaining high levels of student attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding teams, families, and external agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
Daily monitoring of attendance and punctuality data
Identifying patterns of persistent absence and initiating interventions
Communicating with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns
Producing attendance reports for senior leaders
Supporting safeguarding processes linked to attendance
Promoting positive attendance culture across the school
Requirements
Experience in an attendance, pastoral, or administrative role (school-based preferred)
Strong data handling and IT skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Understanding of safeguarding and attendance legislation
Calm, professional approach when dealing with sensitive issues
