French Teacher (ECT) – Heanor, Derbyshire – January 2026

A friendly and well-organised secondary school in Heanor is looking to appoint a French ECT to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from January 2026.

The MFL department has a strong focus on consistency, confidence-building and clear progression, making it an excellent environment for early career teachers.

The role involves:

  • Teaching French across KS3–KS4

  • Delivering lessons using shared schemes and resources

  • Developing students’ speaking and listening confidence

  • Receiving regular mentoring and developmental feedback

ECT support includes:

  • Dedicated subject mentor

  • Reduced timetable and structured CPD

  • Supportive MFL team with collaborative planning

  • Clear behaviour expectations and calm classrooms

This is an ideal role for a French ECT looking to start their career in a supportive, well-led school.
