About the Role
A vibrant primary school in Harlesden, North West London is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their SEN team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
The SEN TA will work with children who require extra support due to a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), and learning difficulties. Support will be delivered on a one-to-one basis, in small intervention groups, or alongside class teachers in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN to access the curriculum
Assist teachers in implementing EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour strategies
Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to meet pupil needs
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs
Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and break times
Encourage independence, confidence, and self-esteem
Observe and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to staff
Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and pupil welfare is prioritised

Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Not Essential)
SEN-related qualifications or training (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness)
Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units
Background in education, psychology, care, or youth work
