English Teacher (ECT) – Independent School – York

A well-regarded Independent School in the York area is seeking a confident and reflective ECT English Teacher to join its English department from January 2026.

About the Role:
This full-time role includes teaching English across KS3–KS4, with smaller class sizes and a strong emphasis on developing teaching practice in a supportive environment.

About the School:
The school serves approximately 750 pupils and is known for excellent pastoral care, strong academic outcomes, and a culture that prioritises staff development. ECTs are fully supported through structured mentoring.

We are looking for someone who:
• Holds an English-related degree
• Has QTS or pending qualification
• Is passionate about English teaching
• Is reflective and eager to develop
• Enjoys working in a supportive setting
