A respected Independent School in York is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join its successful English department from January 2026.
About the Role:
This full-time role involves teaching English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5, contributing to curriculum development, assessment planning, and enrichment opportunities such as debating and creative writing.

The school educates approximately 800 pupils and is known for its excellent pastoral care, strong academic results, and supportive leadership. English is a flagship subject, supported by small class sizes and a culture that values creativity and critical thinking.
We are looking for someone who:
• Holds an English-related degree
• Holds QTS/PGCE
• Can teach English confidently up to KS5
• Is passionate about literature and language
• Works well within a collaborative department
