An excellent opportunity has arisen for a History ECT to join a secondary school in Cambridge from January 2026.

Role Overview

You will teach KS3 and KS4 History, delivering a well-sequenced curriculum focused on enquiry, analytical writing and historical interpretation. The department offers strong mentoring, shared planning time and structured support throughout the ECT programme.

This role is well suited to an ECT looking to develop confidence within a reflective and academically focused Humanities team.

The School

This mixed 11–18 school educates approximately 1,200 pupils and has a strong reputation for its teaching culture and consistent student behaviour. Humanities departments work collaboratively and are well supported by leadership.

ECTs describe the school as calm, encouraging and professionally nurturing, with senior leaders committed to long-term teacher development.
