Role Overview
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Westminster is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with communication and interaction needs. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping children develop communication skills, confidence, and independence within a mainstream primary environment.
You will be working across EYFS and Key Stage 1, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, and social communication difficulties. Support will be delivered through a combination of 1:1 support, small group interventions, and in-class assistance.

Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with communication and interaction needs
Assist with speech, language, and social skills development
Use visual supports and structured routines to promote engagement
Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Help pupils access learning and classroom activities
Implement strategies from EHCPs and support plans
Observe and record pupil progress
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and therapists
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children with communication needs or Autism
Patient, nurturing, and consistent approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confidence following structured SEN strategies
Willingness to engage in SEN and speech-and-language training
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Candidates with experience in SEN education, early years, childcare, or speech and language support are encouraged to apply.
