About the Role
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Brent is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across EYFS and Key Stage 1. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
The role will involve working closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, depending on pupil needs.

Key Responsibilities
Provide targeted SEN support to pupils with a range of additional needs
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and activities
Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
Assist with the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans
Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Support pupils during transitions, playtimes, and structured activities
Record observations and contribute to review meetings
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families
The Ideal Candidate
Has experience working with children with SEN (school-based or transferable experience considered)
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Is confident supporting behaviour, emotional regulation, and communication
Can work effectively as part of a team and follow professional guidance
Holds a relevant qualification or is willing to undertake training
Experience in education, childcare, youth work, psychology, or care settings is highly desirable but not essential.
