SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN

Location: Acton, West London
Start Date: After the holidays

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Acton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is looking for work after the holidays within a nurturing school environment.

The Role

You will be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 who present with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and mild learning needs. The role may involve 1:1 support or working with small intervention groups, helping pupils remain engaged, confident and supported throughout the school day.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies, support behaviour management, and assist pupils with both academic and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted SEN support on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Assist with differentiated classroom activities

  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Encourage social interaction and independence

  • Communicate effectively with teachers and SEN staff

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN

  • A calm, patient and caring approach

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
