An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Geography ECT to begin their career in a supportive and well-organised secondary school in Bishop’s Stortford.

Job Overview

The successful Geography ECT will teach KS3 and KS4, joining a Humanities faculty known for strong collaboration, shared planning and excellent student engagement. The department supports ECTs through mentoring, co-planning and regular developmental feedback.

You will deliver lessons covering physical and human geography, sustainability and global development, supported by high-quality resources and digital mapping tools.

The School

This 11–18 school educates approximately 1,200 pupils and is known for its calm learning environment, consistent behaviour standards and clear curriculum structure. Geography is a popular subject with strong GCSE uptake.

ECTs are fully supported through weekly mentor meetings, protected non-contact time and personalised CPD aligned to the Early Career Framework.

Geography ECT – Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Geography or related discipline
• QTS (ECT status)
• Strong KS3–KS4 subject knowledge
• Enthusiasm for enquiry-based learning
• Legal right to work in the UK
