Maths Teacher (ECT) – Chesterfield, Derbyshire – January 2026

A well-organised and supportive 11–18 secondary school in Chesterfield is seeking an Early Career Teacher of Maths to join its successful Maths department from January 2026.

The Role

You will teach Maths across KS3 and KS4, supported by a department known for its consistency, collaboration and strong outcomes. Lessons are carefully planned around a shared curriculum, ensuring clarity and coherence for both staff and students.

The department prioritises clear explanations, worked examples and regular practice, making it an excellent environment for an ECT to develop confident classroom routines.

Induction & Mentoring

Support includes:

  • Reduced teaching timetable in line with ECT guidance

  • A dedicated Maths mentor with regular coaching sessions

  • Access to shared resources, assessments and intervention materials

  • Ongoing CPD focused on subject pedagogy and behaviour
