The Opportunity & Role Profile

An Outstanding primary school in Oxford is looking for a reliable and hardworking Caretaker. You will be the face of the school's site team, ensuring the building is secure, clean, and safe for young pupils and staff every day.

Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope

  • Site Security: Responsible for the opening and locking of the school site, managing the intruder alarm, and performing key holder duties.

  • General Maintenance: Carrying out minor plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks, alongside coordinating emergency repairs.

  • Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring the playgrounds and paths are clear of hazards and managing the school's waste and recycling procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Essential Requirements: Previous experience in caretaking or a trade. Must have a flexible, proactive approach and a commitment to child safety.

  • Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £24,000 - £29,000 per annum).

  • Support: Local government pension scheme and a friendly, community-focused workplace.
