About the School
A well-established primary school in Wembley is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive and nurturing environment from January. The school serves a diverse community and prioritises inclusion, academic development, and pupil wellbeing.
The SEN department provides structured support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, and speech and language difficulties. Staff are encouraged to develop professionally, and support staff play a central role in ensuring all pupils achieve their potential.
The Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support and small group interventions, working alongside teachers and the SENCO. Responsibilities include supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they can access the curriculum fully.
You will assist pupils with focus, engagement, and behaviour, implementing strategies from SEN plans and EHCPs. Your role will also involve supporting pupils’ social development, fostering confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 and small group support for SEN pupils
Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning
Implement behaviour and emotional support strategies
Support social and communication skills development
Monitor and report on pupil progress
Assist during breaks, lunch, and transitions
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:
Have prior experience as an SEN TA in a primary school
Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be confident in supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs
Be committed to safeguarding and inclusion
