A supportive and well-led 11–18 secondary school in Telford is seeking a passionate Teacher of English (ECT) to join its established English department from January 2026.

The Opportunity

This role is ideally suited to an Early Career Teacher looking for a calm, structured and encouraging start to their career. You’ll teach English across KS3 and KS4, working within a department that values consistency, strong subject knowledge and thoughtful pedagogy.

The English team has a proven track record of developing ECTs, offering clear schemes of work, shared planning time and regular mentoring. Lessons focus on building literacy, confidence and analytical thinking, with a curriculum that balances classic texts with modern voices.

Rated Good by Ofsted, the school is known locally for its strong behaviour culture and excellent pastoral systems. Senior leaders are visible and approachable, and workload is carefully managed, particularly for early career staff.
