A welcoming secondary school in Braintree is seeking an English ECT to begin their teaching career from January 2026. This role is ideally suited to a newly qualified teacher looking to develop confident classroom practice within a highly supportive and well-organised department.
Role Overview
The successful English ECT will teach KS3 and KS4, following clearly sequenced schemes of work supported by shared planning, model lessons and centralised resources. You will benefit from a reduced timetable, regular mentoring meetings and structured observation cycles aligned to the Early Career Framework.

This 11–16 school educates approximately 1,100 pupils and is recognised locally for its calm learning environment, strong behaviour systems and excellent pastoral care. English is a core focus area, with literacy outcomes improving year on year.
