The Opportunity & Role Profile

This major independent school seeks an experienced leader to become Head of Science, ideally with a Physics specialism. The role requires managing the large faculty, driving exceptional academic attainment across all three sciences up to A-Level and supporting competitive university entrance.

Core Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

  • Department Director: Managing curriculum design, staff performance, budget, and laboratory operations for the entire Science faculty.

  • Physics Expert: Delivering challenging instruction in Physics across Key Stage 3 up to A-Level.

  • Academic Mentor: Overseeing the programme for highly selective university applications in STEM fields.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Essential Requirements: Relevant Science Degree (Physics preferred) and QTS. Proven departmental leadership experience is essential.
