Job Description

A friendly Islington school is seeking an innovative Early Years & KS1 Teacher to support children transitioning from EYFS into Year 1. This hybrid role is ideal for a teacher who understands early childhood development and can bridge the gap between play-based and structured learning. The school offers excellent training, modern facilities, and a warm community ethos.

Requirements

  • QTS

  • Strong experience in EYFS or KS1

  • Confident teaching phonics and early maths

  • Ability to adapt practice to support children’s developmental stages

  • Understanding of EYFS-to-KS1 transition strategies

Salary

£34,514 – £46,000

What the Job Entails

  • Supporting pupils across Reception and KS1

  • Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons

  • Delivering early reading and phonics support

  • Liaising with EYFS staff to create smooth transitions

  • Supporting SEN pupils through differentiated activities

  • Creating a caring, play-enriched learning environment

  • Working closely with parents and pastoral staff
