The Opportunity & Role Profile
This major secondary school requires a highly organised and skilled Science Technician to provide essential technical support across all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) up to A-Level. The role is vital for ensuring the safe, efficient, and inspiring delivery of practical science lessons.
Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope
Lab Preparer: Preparing apparatus, chemical solutions, and biological materials for daily practical lessons and examinations.
Safety Champion: Ensuring strict compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines, managing chemical inventory, and maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment.
Resource Coordinator: Repairing equipment, managing stock, and efficiently ordering new supplies within budget constraints.
Compensation & Benefits
Essential Requirements: Previous experience as a Science Technician or relevant scientific qualification/background, with strong commitment to laboratory safety.
Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £25,000 - £30,000 per annum).
