A well-regarded co-educational secondary school in Kingston is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead their finance operations from January.

About the School

The school has a reputation for excellence in both academic outcomes and operational management. The leadership team values transparency, accuracy, and strong financial planning to support long-term school development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including budgeting, payroll, and reporting.

  • Prepare monthly accounts, reconciliations, and financial analysis for SLT and Governors.

  • Manage procurement, invoicing, and supplier relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements, and ESFA guidelines.

  • Line-manage finance staff and coordinate training where required.

  • Support strategic financial planning and resource allocation.

Requirements

  • Experience in school finance or public-sector finance (highly desirable).

  • Strong understanding of financial procedures and compliance.

  • Proficiency in finance software and Microsoft Excel.

  • AAT, ACCA, or CIPFA qualification (or working towards).
