A busy and inclusive primary school in Newham is recruiting a compassionate SEN TA to join the SEND team from January 2026. This SEN TA role in Newham involves working one-to-one and in small groups to implement individual programmes, support social and emotional development and enable access to classroom learning. The SEN TA will receive induction and handover prior to January 2026, with the SEN TA in post from January 2026.

Working in Newham, the SEN TA will collaborate with the SENCo and class teams to adapt resources, deliver evidence-informed interventions and monitor progress. The SEN TA will support communication strategies, sensory regulation and structured learning activities to help pupils achieve targets. Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy and SEMH as a SEN TA.

• Adapt resources and scaffold tasks to increase access to lessons.

• Support communication programmes, sensory strategies and behaviour plans.

• Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to review meetings.

• Liaise with families, therapists and staff to ensure consistent support in Newham.

Person specification

• Experience working with children with SEND in a school or specialist setting as a SEN TA.

• Good knowledge of practical intervention approaches and behaviour-support techniques.

• Calm, flexible and able to build positive relationships with pupils and families in Newham.

• Ready to start January 2026 and attend induction and handover before January 2026.
