Are you a proactive SEN TA who wants to make a real difference to pupils’ learning and wellbeing? A friendly primary school in Lewisham is recruiting a SEN TA to join their inclusion team from January 2026.

The SEN TA will provide targeted classroom support, run evidence-informed interventions, assist with communication and sensory programmes and support pupils’ independence. This SEN TA role in Lewisham includes induction and a comprehensive handover prior to January 2026, ensuring the SEN TA is prepared to begin in January 2026 and contribute effectively to the Lewisham school community throughout January 2026 and beyond.

Role responsibilities

• Deliver structured one-to-one and small-group teaching designed to meet individual targets as a SEN TA.

• Adapt classroom resources, scaffold tasks and offer practical strategies so pupils can access learning.

• Support social skills groups and implement behaviour and regulation plans with consistency.

• Keep detailed records of intervention outcomes, contribute to review meetings and support transition planning.

• Liaise with therapists, parents and class teachers to ensure joined-up support across Lewisham.

Person specification

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in educational or specialist settings as a SEN TA.

• Strong practical knowledge of intervention approaches, behaviour strategies and differentiation.

• Empathetic, patient and able to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff across Lewisham.

• Available to commence January 2026 with attendance at induction and training before January 2026.
