Year 4 Teacher - Wandsworth

A popular primary school in Wandsworth is seeking an enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join the Key Stage 2 team from January 2026. The successful Year 4 Teacher will plan and teach well-sequenced units in English, mathematics and the foundation subjects, set high expectations for behaviour and learning, and lead targeted small-group support. This Year 4 Teacher post in Wandsworth includes a full handover and induction before January 2026, ensuring the Year 4 Teacher is ready to begin the spring term in January 2026 and settled into the Wandsworth community.

• Year 4 Teacher required for a full-time KS2 position
• Year 4 Teacher required to work within a supportive primary school in Wandsworth
• Year 4 Teacher to join a collaborative lower-KS2 phase delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum

The Year 4 Teacher will use assessment to identify gaps, adapt planning for a range of abilities and run booster groups to secure rapid progress. Working in Wandsworth, the Year 4 Teacher will join a professional staff team that values collaboration, strong CPD and a thoughtful approach to curriculum design. The Year 4 Teacher will also contribute to year-group moderation, enrichment activities and whole-school improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver sequenced Year 4 lessons that develop knowledge, vocabulary and reasoning.

  • Lead guided reading, writing units and maths problem-solving sessions.

  • Deliver targeted small-group tuition, track impact and refine approaches.

  • Differentiate effectively and work alongside teaching assistants to scaffold learning.
    -Maintain accurate assessment records and communicate progress with families in Wandsworth.

Person specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status with recent KS2 experience and strong Year 4 classroom outcomes.

  • Secure subject knowledge across KS2, excellent behaviour routines and assessment literacy.

  • Collaborative, reflective and committed to professional development within the Wandsworth school community.

  • Able to commence January 2026 and to attend induction prior to January 2026.
