Design Technology ECT – Watford
We are seeking a motivated, practical and forward-thinking Design Technology ECT to join an Outstanding mainstream secondary school in Watford. This role is ideal for a Newly Qualified DT Teacher eager to develop quickly within a high-performing school known for exceptional staff support and excellent student outcomes.
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will teach across KS3, KS4 and—where appropriate—KS5, delivering an engaging and ambitious curriculum that blends practical skill with design theory. The department benefits from modern, well-maintained workshops, specialist equipment, CAD/CAM facilities, 3D printers and full technician support.

Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering or similar
PGCE with QTS
Training to teach DT at KS3/4 (KS5 desirable)
Strong workshop safety knowledge and practical capability
Commitment to fostering creativity, technical skill and student engagement
Salary
This DT ECT position will be paid to scale in line with MPS1.
