A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their staff from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Year 1 Teacher who is passionate about early phonics, foundational reading and developing strong learning routines. The appointed Year 1 Teacher will begin their role in January 2026, with a full induction taking place before January 2026 to ensure a confident start.

• Year 1 Teacher required for a full-time KS1 position

• Year 1 Teacher to join a highly supportive and creative KS1 team

The Year 1 Teacher will work within a well-structured KS1 department in Slough, delivering engaging phonics sessions, sequencing literacy lessons and developing early mathematical understanding. The Year 1 Teacher will plan creative, differentiated lessons, run guided reading groups and support small-group interventions. As a Year 1 Teacher, you will contribute to year group planning and participate in moderation sessions across Slough.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured Year 1 lessons supporting phonics, writing and early maths
• Deliver guided reading and daily phonics to support consistent progress
• Track and assess pupil progress and adapt planning accordingly
• Prepare high-quality classroom resources and maintain an engaging learning environment
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers in Slough

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience teaching KS1 or early years education
• Strong understanding of early reading and phonics
• Positive behaviour management skills
• Available to start January 2026
