This welcoming primary school requires a dedicated and trustworthy Caretaker to oversee the security and daily upkeep of its site. The school needs a responsible professional who prioritizes the safety of younger pupils, handling daily maintenance tasks and ensuring the campus is clean, welcoming, and fully functional.

Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope

  • Access Anchor: Performing key holder duties, managing alarm systems, and securely locking up and opening the premises.
  • Maintenance Mechanic:

    • Performing routine minor repairs and DIY tasks (e.g., hanging displays, minor decorating, basic upkeep).
    • Liaising with external contractors for larger maintenance and repair work.
  • Safety Sentinel: Conducting daily checks to ensure play areas, internal spaces, and equipment meet rigorous health and safety standards specific to the primary environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a maintenance or site role, strong practical skills, and a strong commitment to working in a child-centered environment.
  • Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (ranging from £24,000 – £29,000 Annually).
  • Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and supportive leadership.
