The Opportunity & Role Profile

This busy secondary school requires a dedicated and trustworthy Caretaker to oversee the security and daily upkeep of its facilities. The school needs a responsible professional who can handle minor repairs, prioritise security, and ensure the campus is clean and functional for pupils and staff.

Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope

  • Access Anchor: Key holder duties, managing alarm systems, and securely locking up and opening the premises for internal and external hires.
  • Maintenance Mechanic: Performing routine minor repairs (DIY, basic upkeep, painting), and coordinating larger maintenance needs with the Site Management team.
  • Safety Sentinel: Conducting daily checks to ensure pathways and internal spaces meet rigorous health and safety standards.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a maintenance or site role, practical skills, and a strong commitment to working in a busy educational environment.
  • Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (ranging from £24,000 – £29,000 Annually).
  • Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and supportive premises team.
