We are recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a well-resourced primary in Hammersmith. The Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver sequences that secure early reading, writing and mathematical fluency, lead intervention groups and contribute to whole-school moderation. The Year 2 Teacher post starts January 2026, with handover and induction planned before January 2026.

Main duties

• Plan and teach sequenced Year 2 lessons with clear progression and purposeful differentiation.
• Deliver phonics and guided-reading sessions and run targeted small-group support to accelerate progress.
• Maintain assessment records, evaluate the impact of interventions and report progress to parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues on moderation, curriculum development and enrichment in Hammersmith.
• Support pastoral needs, trips and wider school events to promote a positive learning environment.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with proven Year 2 practice and strong knowledge of early reading strategies.
• Organised, reflective and able to begin January 2026 with participation in pre-start induction.
