A welcoming primary school in Harrow is seeking a confident and energetic Year 2 Teacher to start January 2026. This Year 2 Teacher will deliver a well-sequenced KS1 curriculum, lead phonics and guided-reading sessions, and run small-group interventions to secure strong progress. The appointed Year 2 Teacher will begin induction before January 2026 and will be fully classroom-ready from January 2026.

The Year 2 Teacher will plan differentiated lessons, use assessment to set precise next steps and work closely with teaching assistants to ensure every child in Harrow makes measurable progress. The Year 2 Teacher will engage parents, contribute to moderation and support enrichment activities across the Harrow school community.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Year 2 lessons that develop reading, writing and number skills.
• Lead phonics and guided-reading sessions and run targeted small-group work.
• Use assessment to identify priorities and adapt teaching to accelerate progress across Harrow.
• Work with teaching assistants to scaffold learning and ensure differentiated provision.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate positive next steps to families.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with recent KS1 experience and proven Year 2 classroom impact.
• Strong phonics knowledge, assessment literacy and effective behaviour-management routines.
• Collaborative, organised and committed to working in Harrow; available to start January 2026.
• Enthusiastic about parental engagement and school enrichment in Harrow.
