ECT English Teacher – Lancashire

A large and inclusive 11–18 secondary school in Lancashire is seeking a dedicated English ECT to support their expanding English Department.

About the School

A Good school with excellent student support systems, strong leadership and an English department known for creativity, collaboration and strong GCSE results. Early Career Teachers receive structured mentoring, lesson observations, shared planning and reduced timetable periods for CPD and development.

The Role

• Teach English across KS3–KS4 using established curriculum plans
• Use assessment frameworks to track progress and plan interventions
• Mark written work with detailed feedback to support literacy development
• Participate in ECT induction, coaching cycles and department meetings
• Support enrichment such as reading clubs, theatre visits and writing competitions

Requirements

• PGCE/ITT in English
• Strong literacy skills and understanding of curriculum requirements
• Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to improving practice
