ECT Maths Teacher – York

A thriving 11–18 secondary school in York is seeking a motivated Maths ECT to join their supportive Mathematics Department.

About the School

A well-regarded school with Good behaviour, excellent pastoral structures and a strong record of developing Early Career Teachers. The Maths department has modern classrooms, high-quality digital resources, structured schemes of work, and a collaborative team that regularly shares planning and assessment materials. ECTs receive weekly mentoring, reduced timetables and access to tailored CPD.

The Role

• Teach engaging Maths lessons across KS3–KS4 with structured support
• Develop lessons using well-sequenced departmental schemes of work
• Use data and assessments to identify gaps and plan targeted intervention
• Work closely with your mentor through observations, feedback and CPD
• Support enrichment including Maths challenges, workshops and revision sessions

Requirements

• PGCE/ITT with a Maths specialism
• Strong subject knowledge and commitment to professional growth
• Willingness to reflect on practice and participate in mentoring
