A highly regarded independent 11–18 day school in Leeds is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their high-achieving English Faculty.

About the School

A thriving independent school with a strong academic reputation, excellent pastoral care and well-resourced teaching spaces. The English department delivers both Language and Literature at GCSE and A-Level, supported by digital resources, visiting authors, debating societies and regular cultural enrichment activities.

The Role

• Teach English across KS3–KS5 with a balance of creative, analytical and critical skills
• Develop resources to support textual analysis, comparative study and extended writing
• Provide detailed marking, feedback and progress assessments
• Support extracurricular activities such as drama, debating and reading initiatives
• Work collaboratively on curriculum planning, moderation and departmental development

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of English curriculum and exam specifications
• Ability to inspire confident writers, readers and critical thinkers
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of learning and pastoral guidance
