An Outstanding 11–18 comprehensive school in York is seeking a motivated Science Teacher to join their excellent Science Faculty.

About the School

An academically strong school with state-of-the-art laboratories, modern equipment and a committed team of teachers and technicians. The Science department offers Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level and is known for high student engagement, strong results and vibrant extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs and science fairs.

The Role

• Teach Science across KS3–KS4 with enthusiasm, clarity and secure subject knowledge
• Deliver a KS5 specialism—Biology, Chemistry or Physics—based on expertise
• Prepare practical work, demonstrations and experimental resources
• Track pupil progress through assessments, data tools and feedback
• Engage in departmental CPD and collaborative curriculum development

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of Science curriculum and laboratory practice
• Ability to teach at least one science to A-Level standard
• Commitment to safe working, high expectations and inspiring learners
