A prestigious 11–18 grammar school in Lancashire is seeking a knowledgeable English Teacher to join their accomplished English Faculty.

About the School

A selective grammar school with Outstanding behaviour, strong academic outcomes and a well-established English curriculum. The department benefits from specialist classrooms, a rich library resource, extensive extracurricular opportunities and a culture of reading for pleasure. Students consistently achieve excellent GCSE and A-Level results.

The Role

• Teach English across KS3–KS5, including Literature and Language pathways
• Prepare resources and lesson materials to support analytical and creative learning
• Mark coursework, essays and assessments with detailed, constructive feedback
• Support enrichment such as debating, writing competitions and theatre visits
• Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and CPD

Requirements

• Excellent subject knowledge of English Literature and Language
• Ability to inspire high-achieving learners in a grammar school environment
• Commitment to rigorous standards of teaching, assessment and behaviour
