The Opportunity & Role Profile

This successful academy requires an experienced Senior Science Technician to provide high-level technical support across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and inspiring delivery of practical science lessons to students up to A-Level.

Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope

  • Lab Manager: Preparing complex apparatus, chemical solutions, and biological materials for daily practical lessons and examinations (GCSE/A-Level).
  • Safety Champion: Ensuring strict compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines, managing chemical inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
  • Resource Coordinator: Repairing equipment, managing stock, and ordering new supplies efficiently within budget constraints.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Essential Requirements: Previous experience as a Science Technician (ideally 2+ years), strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, and a scientific qualification.
  • Salary: Highly competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £28,000 - £34,000 per annum).
  • Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and dedicated budget for technical training.
