Year 3 Teacher | Newham
An engaging primary school in Newham is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to start in January 2026. The successful Year 3 Teacher will plan well-sequenced lessons that develop pupils’ fluency in reading, writing and mathematics, and will deliver high-quality classroom teaching across the Year 3 curriculum. This Year 3 Teacher post in Newham will include small-group intervention, curriculum contribution and active involvement in school life. The new Year 3 Teacher will take part in induction and planning sessions ahead of January 2026 so they are ready to teach from January 2026.

The Year 3 Teacher will work closely with phase leaders and teaching assistants to moderate standards, track progress and implement targeted support. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver sequenced Year 3 lessons that build knowledge, vocabulary and application.
- Use formative and summative assessment to identify priorities and run timely small-group support.
- Collaborate with TAs to scaffold learning and differentiate activities to meet diverse needs.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to moderation activities.
- Engage with parents and carers to share progress and promote learning at home.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent Key Stage 2 experience and evidence of impact in Year 3.
- Secure subject knowledge in English and mathematics and confident curriculum planning skills.
- Strong classroom routines, excellent communication and a collaborative approach to improvement.
- Enthusiastic about working in Newham and available to start January 2026.
